Hot tub cover clips replacement
Hot tub covers are made from water-resistent materials.
Hot tub covers keep out leaves, dust and debris and can reduce maintenance of the filter system. Padded covers that fold in the middle are installed by placing the folded cover at one end of the tub and unfolding it Many homeowners find it difficult to attach a cover that has snaps or straps with clips because it is difficult to keep the cover dry while attaching it at the sides the tub. Use a simple method to install a hot tub cover and keep it dry at the same time.
Measure the tub from side to side and add 24 inches. If the tub is rectangular instead of square, measure the distance between the longest sides and add 24 inches. Note the measurement.
Refer to your measurement and cut four pieces of one-by-two pine as temporary supports when installing the cover. Cut the pieces with a handsaw, and smooth the edges of each using moderate pressure on a sanding block.
Position the temporary pine supports across the hut tub, resting on the rim at opposite sides. The supports should be parallel and evenly spaced from end to end of the tub. The outer ends of the supports should extend 12 inches from the sides of the hot tub.
Lay out the hot tub cover on a clean surface, such as a lawn or pool deck, with the snap buttons or straps with clips facing up. Roll up the cover loosely. For a rectangular cover, roll it along one of the long edges.
Place the rolled up cover on the temporary supports at one side of the hut tub. Even the ends of the roll with the ends of the hot tub. Unroll the cover across the supports.
Start at the edge of the tub near one end of the cover. Snap the end of the cover into place at the rim or fasten the clips at the connectors on the tub. Slide out the nearest pine support and snap or fasten the clips at the corresponding sides of the rim. Slide out the next support and attach next section of the cover at each side. Slide out the last support and attach the remaining portion of the cover.
